Hello there, thank you for taking a look at my blog. I’m a Mum of three from England currently living with my family in Gibraltar. In my spare time I love to crochet, sew and paint. I also enjoy gardening and the great outdoors. Thanks for joining me on my Gibraltarian adventure!

Hi there! I enjoyed watching the 52 weeks of photos! I’ve decided to do it myself this year. I’ve linked to your blog as the inspiration on my most recent post. I wanted to let you know. 🙂

Hello I’ve just found your blog and it’s so pretty! I am staying in Gibraltar for a couple of weeks, and wondered if you can tell me where I can buy quilting supplies – particularly craft cotton fabrics? Thank you in hope

Hi Kirstie, welcome to Gibraltar! I’m afraid we’re a bit sparse here for craft supplies, but there are two small outlets you could try. My dressmaking teacher, Dorcas Hammond has a small haberdashery and fabric store in the front of her workshop at 38 Governor’s Street. She has some printed cotton fabrics, threads, and other supplies. I’d try that first.
There’s also a fabric store called Princess Silks 2 in the ICC shopping centre upstairs from Debenhams. There’s also a wool shop called Flower on Bell Lane which has some bits and pieces but not much in the way of fabric other than net curtains really. Good luck on your mission!

Thank you for your guidance – I didn’t find what I was looking for this time, but I had a good walk around the city in the search 😉

I’m sorry you didn’t find anything suitable. La Linea market is on just across the border on Wednesday mornings – they have fabric stalls – and from memory have printed cottons although they are sold from the roll rather than fat quarters. That might be worth a try. If you cross the border on foot and turn right as soon as you leave the customs area, you will soon see the stalls after the park area.

Hi
I have just come across your blog and I love it. My partner is half Gibraltarian and we visit a few times a year from the UK. Maybe when we retire we may be able to stay for a few months of the year! I love the Main Street for shopping (love perfume and makeup) but the whole area is nice and it has a nice climate. Always feel relaxed when I am there. Do you think you will stay there permanently? What are your favourite things to do there?

Hi Laura lovely to hear from you. I’m not sure whether Gib is my forever home as we are here due to work commitments but it’s been a lovely place to bring up children. My truly favourite things to do are to climb the Med Steps and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Upper Rock as well as watching the sunset from our balcony. 😊
