So, this summer’s craft challenge rather fell at the last few hurdles. It was doing so well but life got hectic and I’m afraid I put my crochet hook down rather a lot in the last few weeks of the school summer break. Not all the time though, so here goes with a mish mash of photos from the end of the holiday.
Introducing Dino…
Dino is the project I was working on during our holiday in Portugal but I couldn’t share a finished picture until he was gifted to his new owner in Manchester.
While in Manchester, an Edward’s Menagery Kit by Toft accidentally fell into my shopping basket. This cutie is Calle Emma.
She didn’t quite look exactly like the photo in the kit but she’s still pretty cute I think!
And that was the end of my summer Craft Challenge for another year, my least successful in so far as I didn’t manage to crochet every day, but a few unexpected things happened which got in the way of having crochet time.
I also didn’t want to put out this post until I had the time to pick up a hook again, and I’m very pleased to say that after about a month with no crochet at all, I was reacquainted with my Catalan Bay / Changing Tides Blanket again yesterday and that felt good!
please Miss, can I have an Emma? she’s cute. I might have to learn how to crochet.
Haha! She’s lovely isn’t she?! She was a joy to make, and yarn which came with the kit is alpaca, which I have never used before but was a dream to work up. It felt so luxurious as it ran between my fingers. She is also suitable for beginners… so perhaps you should have a go 😉
Here’s her details: https://www.edwardscrochet.com/Article_Pages_EmmatheBunny.aspx
thanks heaps! there’s plenty of alpaca available here in Auckland, the breed thrives in our climate (who knew?).
OMG her description is so much me!!!!
Brilliant! That made me smile. If you want to use your local Alpaca you can get a book of patterns from Edward’s Menagerie- there’s a whole range of adorable critters to make! 😊
I’m going to a knit group on Tuesday, going to learn some basic crochet!
That’s fantastic- how did you get on?
I didn’t. I suck.
Aw that’s a shame – stick with it though! X
Aww that Dino is so cute.
Thank you! I’ve made quite a few. They’re very easy to make 😊
